The Cast & Crew
Bruce Wayne aka Batman is played by none other than Robert Pattinson, of Tenet, Water For Elephants, Remember Me, and the Twilight saga fame. Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell also star in the film.
Matt Reeves, who previously directed Let Me In, multiple Planet of the Apes films, and Cloverfield, has both co-written and directed The Batman. Reeves actually envisioned Pattinson as Batman whilst writing the screenplay for the film, according to IMDb, so it’s no surprise the Twilight actor was cast in the leading role.
The Plot
The Batman follows Bruce Wayne, played by Pattinson, a year after he decided to become the Batman. He must make new allies, including Catwoman, played by Kravitz, and James Gordon, played by Wright, to take down Dano’s character The Riddler; a serial killer who live-streams his murders of Gotham City’s elite citizens.
Reeves told Nerdist that while the film is not an origin story, it will explore the Batman character before he’s “fully formed” and will highlight that the character is still learning and is not an elite crime-fighter just quite yet.
